A would-be Singaporean novelist's blog

“Far out in the uncharted backwaters of the unfashionable end of the Western Spiral arm of the Galaxy…” – The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Universe

I am a writer (and probably one day, author) far out on a sunny end of the southeastern part of Asia, and from what we are supposed to believe, an increasingly fashionable end at that, with new buildings! developments! and a cosmopolitan and metropolitan and multicultural society. In short, Singapore.

As for myself, in a few quick points:
  • A writer, mostly, when I’m not busy or distracted.
  • Fairly young.
  • Conscript.
  • Plays the electric bass (not very well, yet)
  • Armchair human scientist, offhand commentator and people-watcher. Frequents the 100s, 300s and 800s in the library.
  • Has to read more fiction to balance out the above.
  • Nothing like this intro in real life.

As for this blog, it’s largely a ramshackle collection of thoughts, notes, events and other things. Usually, I’ll blog about:

  • Writing, literature
  • Peace and of a better world, and conversely, of human failures
  • People
  • Life
  • And the things I come across.

I can also be found at Twitter @jaraix, at jaraix[dot]blog[at]gmail[dot]com, or at Librarything with a bunch of books.

That’s all for now, and hello, where ever you are. It can’t be more than a planet away.
